Snowfall Record Falling? Again!? 12/26/08 Snowfall totals for the season to date have actually surpassed those of the record-setting 2008/09 season. According to Aspen Skiing Co. spokesman Jeff Hanle, as of Tuesday morning, when 15 inches of snow graced the slopes, Snowmass ski area officially surpassed last year’s total season to date. A whopping 104 inches, or 8 feet of snow, has fallen since opening day, Thanksgiving. Last year at this time, the marker was 100 inches. But between Dec. 23 and Dec. 31, 2008, another 29 inches fell.
